According to the Daily Mail, Hasbro has launched a kids version of Monopoly that can be completed in less than half an hour so that it fits into its young players’ busy schedules!  The new Monopoly Empire game is aimed at children of eight and older and is proving very popular.  Hasbro says that today’s youngsters  simply don’t have the attention span to play for hours.

This leaves me with a few questions:

1. Are our young people born with genes that mean they don’t have an attention span of more than 30 minutes…or are we as a society allowing that?

2. What are the implications for our society: environmental, commercial, community…. if our future leaders can only focus on one thing for 30 minutes?

All thoughts gratefully received.
